I posted a Goodreads Giveaway of my novel coming out in August, Surprisingly Supernatural, and have had wonderful results already. It's free to post a giveaway on Goodreads and they do all the work. They collect the entries and then send you the winners' info. You can set the time frame for whatever you want. It says it's only for ARC Print Copies but you can run your giveaway any time, so even on books already released.
I'm giving away two print copies of Surprisingly Supernatural and set the contest to end a bit after my release date. Before I posted a giveaway, only 6 people had marked the book as "to-read".
Results only 48 hrs after posting the giveaway (which will run for nearly 2 months):
- 43 people have marked Surprisingly Supernatural as "to-read" or "want to own"
- 177 readers have already entered the contest and requested a free copy (though only two will win)
- I've had 50 Goodreads friend requests
- I've received 2 emails from people who found my book through the giveaway and are requesting a copy for review on their legitimate blogs. (I checked to make sure they were legit)
All of this, which hopefully translates to sales, and I basically did NOTHING and all it's costing me is two print copies. *jumps up and down*
Get over there and post your own Giveaway! Annnnnnd...also enter mine :-)
